Q: When a mime gets arrested, do the police bother to tell him he has the right to remain silent?

Today we woke up thinking we were going to greet Brian's friend from Pennsylvania at 11am, that is, until we got to the airport and didn't see any arrivals at that time.  That's what we asked Brian if he was sure it wasn't 1pm, or 11PM.  There were computers available (at the airport) that charged a lot, don't remember how much.  So Brian checked his e-mail and sure enough, it said 11 PM.  We forgave him, plus he hasn't been feeling well since Thursday.  It was only a bummer that we made his friend Alex a sign, and bought a green balloon that said "Bienvenido," only to, well, not meet its purpose.  Hey, it's the thought that counts.

It was great waking up later today.  I love Saturday mornings.  My goal for the day was to work on a presentation I have to do at the end of the courses, but that didn't happen.  Today I went with my host family to the host grandparents' house because it was the birthday of the father of my host dad.  He's in his 70's and is pretty cool.  Almuerzo was delicious I wish I would have remembered to take a pic but I forgot my camera.    I had a good time hanging out with the family.  We played this game called Sequence.  My host dad's nephew, who's in his early 20's speaks English and I found out he lived in New York for 10 years.  Pretty cool.

Later that night we went to La Ronda.  That "we" was Brian, Vincent, Christian who later caught up with us, and of course us two girls.  We ate at some place where the food was okay but we just couldn't finish it for some reason.  There was a lady who came in to the restaurant, very short by the way, with a man who had a guitar.  She began singing next to Brian and his face was priceless the second she started.  She had a deep voice and sang well; never would have expected that from her.  Vincent lost $40 bucks, bummer huh? Lucky night for whoever found that cash money.

After La Ronda, we girls went with Brian to the airport to greet his friend.  Vincent and Christian went to the Mariscal.  We got there just in the nick of time because as soon as we walked in through the doors, I recognized his friend (because I had seen him on facebook) and started asking Brian, "is this him, is this him??"  He is tall.

We got a taxi driver to take us to the Mariscal area, which is where Brian got a hostel for $14 a night.  I sat in the passenger's seat... not the smartest idea, but I just haven't gotten shotgun in a long time.  I talked to the taxi driver and by the end he was asking if he could take a picture with me with his cell phone... CREEPER.  So as soon as we arrived I went ahead of the group.  Geeze, can't have a conversation with a guy without him thinking further than that.

We walked around one block in the Mariscal area, Yonseili got a hamburger and she got me french fries.  We headed back to the hostel and they walked us to get a taxi.  I wish we could have called it a night but we had to work on a few things, yes homework.

Highlight of the day:  We took a picture with the mime!

Ta-da!
