...and the farewells begin

Today Vincent left.  Of course, I knew I had to say goodbye to people eventually, but it's hard to do.  Being at this school, at the Academy specifically, it is hard to make friends. People come and go for a limited amount of time to learn Spanish.  Some are here longer than others.  Vincent had started school the same time as us, and we actually hung out with him more often recently.  We regret not hanging out sooner.  Nonetheless, I'm happy we made a friend from Belgium.  Brian also started the same day as us, and is leaving soon.  His absence will be a lot more obvious since we walked to and from school with him almost every day.  But I also think it's safe to say we have a friend from Philadelphia, PA.

We gave him a goodbye gift.  He received a New Mexico postcard with a little message from us (Yonseili and me), a New Mexico key chain, and an NMSU pin that he can wear proudly.

After school I ate with a guy from France and Japan.  I believe their names are spelled as Brys and Shigueki...  I took them to the Bambu place.  They liked.  Brys spoke a bit about Paris (where he's from specifically) and how he just loved it and thought it was the most beautiful city.  Shigueki didn't think the same about Tokyo.

Shigueki went to the Mariscal area to pick up his clothes from the cleaners, Brys and I went back to school.  I read my book for literature until Yonseili got out of class.  She got a hot dog, two I mean.  The lady asked us where we were from, how long we're here for, blah blah blah... I think that the both of us are over those questions.  I am also over, "?Estas estudiando español? Pero si lo hablas muy bien..."  I still reply to all those questions nicely, but must confess I am getting tired of them.  Well, we didn't walk but took a taxi home.

We just chilled at my house for a while and she left to her crib.  Did homework, had dinner, and did homework.  What an exciting night!

"Highlight" of the day: Saying goodbye to Vincent.  Really sad.  I won't get to see him, but Yonseili and Christian will meet up with him on Friday when they go to Cuenca.  I will go elsewhere...
