Como Agua Para Chocolate

A Must Watch

I only slept like 3 hours.  I really wasn't happy with myself this morning.  I called Brian at 7am to ask if he was going, and he wasn't.  Yonseili and I took a taxi.  It takes forever to get anywhere in the morning with all the freakin' traffic.  Well, at least I wasn't breathing in all the black smoke that the vehicles are happy to share with the world.

We asked the taxi driver to take us to the Cyrano to get coffee and chocolate.  "Se puede ir por la Shyris, sube en la Portugal y va a la derecha en la 6 de Diciembre."  We got it down.  Yeah baby!  We arrived to school with like 5 minutes to spare.  Every morning that we arrive to school we say good morning to the security guard, who ever it is.  Our favorite is Samuel.  He is an older man and is really nice.  The other guy who's younger, Edwin, isn't as nice and sometimes it seems like he either takes his job too seriously or he hates his job.  Samuel says hi with a smile every time.  We will have to take him some brownies some time.  I like brownies by the way.

In advertising, we talked about propaganda, watched commercials and analyzed them, and talked about Benetton's controversial photographs.  It was kinda cool to watch commercials.  I hate commercials when I'm watching a good show, but I don't mind them when we are analyzing them.

Today we had no break because Raquel took us to her house to watch "Como Agua Para Chocolate" directed by Alfonso Arau.  If you haven't watched it, you now HAVE TO.  It's a direct order.  Raquel's house was very nice and she had a big cat, pretty and big cat.  Her name is Paquita and she is 2 years old.  Christian missed out because he had "chuchita and diaria."

When we got back to school Yonseili and I went to Bambu to eat a hamburger and fries.  I walked home by myself.  I got hit on by too many males of all ages with a lot of comments that I don't care to hear.

I talked to my dad when I got home and told him about my planned trip to Galapagos.  I will be going October 15-18 on the Santa Cruz boat.  Look forward to it.

I was sleepy and had planned to take a two-hour nap but somehow I just couldn't go to sleep so I worked on homework.  Then, I finally got sleepy enough to be able to take my, now, 1-hour nap.  It did me really good. Then I heard my cell phone vibrating.  It was no one other than Yonseili.  She came over and we worked on homework.  Later that night we went out to Huaina, the bar that everyone goes to before they go to Bungalow 6 because the beer is cheap.  I must say that bar has good music; they have a projector showing The Classic Project 3.  All the music is that of music that makes me feel old.  Love the music.

After being there a while Yonseili and I wanted hot chocolate and cappuccino so we headed to coffee tree.  Then we came back and ... goodnight!

Highlight of the day: Like Water for Chocolate.  It is now one of my favorite movies!
