"Buen Provecho"

I woke up at 9am; I was still sleepy but I figured I should get up. I found out the doctor had come over to the house because my host mom hurt her back =/ -she's fine now. We had cereal for breakfast, and that was fine. Trix aren't just for kids.

Today's weather really affected my mood-I felt tired/lazy. It was cloudy all day and it rained now and then. There was a quick storm that lasted about 30 minutes in the evening. But in the afternoon, about 2ish pm, Yonseili, Brian and I went to the market to see if I could find a nice sweater for tomorrow's trip to the Pichincha volcano. We ended up getting beanies and socks... very nice beanies and socks by the way. Brian got a t-shirt for his friend... very nice t-shirt by the way. Then we headed to El Jardin (the mall) where we went to Sweet and Coffee to get coffee, chocolate, triple fudge brownie and something that looked like flan.

I must say, before I went out I had lunch at home and it was delicioso as you can see in the picture. I seriously could have gone for seconds if I had the space.

We came back home and the rest of the evening we just hung out at home. I had dinner, surfed the web, chatted with family and friends. Then later in the evening Carlos (my host dad) ordered pizza and Yonseili was invited. We ate pizza and drank cola as we watched a soccer game: Mexico vs. Ecuador. Ecuador won 2-1.

Although tomorrow we are waking up early to go to the volcano... Yonseili and I are up late working on our blogs. I sure hope we don't regret this tomorrow!

Highlight of the day: Lunch. It was simply that good. I finished the whole plate and my host mom was very proud of me. Before every meal here it's a custom (at least in my host family) to say "buen provecho" which means "enjoy." And boy oh boy did I enjoy.

Vocabulary: Grass => cesped
